This is serious business that I picked up from Stephen Downes today at OLDaily. Evidently, Blackboard has managed to patent their LMS structure — and in so doing, the US Patent and Trademark Office seems to be granting them ownership of much of the generic architecture of LMS systems. Yikes! I’d imagine the folks at Drupal noticed this today. Anyway, if you want to read more, or even better, if you want to squawk about it, check out the post today at Michael Felstein’s blog.
