The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute invites submissions for their Prevention Matters
Conference to be held on October 22, 23, and 24, 2007 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The Institute’s mandate is to reduce the occurrence of disabilities in children and youth
and submissions are welcome in the areas of primary prevention, health promotion, risk
situations and solutions, program delivery, learning environments and situational factors,
or other related topics.

Submission Guidelines
Abstract Type
Concurrent Sessions
Total Length: 90 minutes

Workshops/Lectures are presented by a maximum of three presenters addressing a
relevant conference theme.

Poster Presentations
Presentations will be displayed for the duration of the conference. There will be
dedicated times for viewing and discussion with presenter(s). Poster Board size is
4’ X 8’ maximum and all materials must fit within this space.

Parenting
Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs

Abstract Format
Single spaced Microsoft Word documents (.doc) or rich text formats (.rtf) to be submitted
via email and must include the following information:

Title
Author name(s), organizations name(s), presenter’s name(s)
Street address, city, province, postal code, telephone number, fax number and
email addresses of all presenters
Abstract Type: (concurrent or poster)
250 word maximum

Please note only primary presenters of accepted abstracts will receive an honorarium, all
other registration, travel, accommodation, and related expenses will not be covered.
