I really enjoyed this podcast from CBS’s “Ideas” podcast site. I really like this site, but I wonder why CBC only posts the last four or five programs before moving them off the site. Can’t CBC afford the server space? At any rate, this was posted only a couple of days ago, so you have a few weeks to find it. But don’t wait forever, or it will be gone.

Witness to a Country
Roy MacGregor has spent thirty years travelling and writing about Canada. “You’d think I’d know something,” he says. “I don’t. I still don’t understand how it works.” In the 2006 Dalton Camp Lecture in Journalism, he describes some of his experiences and reflects on the “Journalism Personality”— something he says cannot be taught — and the privilege and practice of journalism.
