Some time ago, I posted about a really neat and useful retro tool for writers called WriteRoom. It is essentially a word processor that eliminates all distractions, including the distractions that are built into most full-featured word processors. I love it when I’m writing something that is difficult, and I need to focus on getting ideas on the page–and nothing else.
The problem was that it was only available for Macintosh users. The same (or very similar) product is now available for PC users too, and it looks great. Thanks to Gro Lilbaek for sending me the link.
You can find DarkRoom here:
Free download — shareware license if you like it.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 3-6 July 2007
Presenters may choose to submit written papers for publication in the fully refereed International Journal of Diversity in Organisations, Communities and Nations. If you are unable to attend the conference in person, virtual registrations are also available which allow you to submit a paper for review and possible publication in the journal, and provide access to the online edition of the journal.
The next deadline in the call for papers is 10 February 2007 – to submit your proposal, please visit the online call for papers page on the conference website.
We look forward to receiving your proposals and hope you will be able to join us in Amsterdam in July 2007.
