The *Teaching & Learning Centre* is seeking an experienced and dynamic instruction designer to support its blended learning course redesign initiatives. The successful candidate will have experience in working with fundamental course redesign/implementation and have a solid learning technology background. The preferred starting date is July 1, 2008.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team of technology professionals tasked with improving learning outcomes through the creation of software and media to support and extend University of Calgary blended learning course redesign initiatives and core learning management platforms (currently Blackboard, Elluminate).
Responsibilities will also include broad instructional design consultation and training.
Duties will include working with faculty and other content specialists in the planning, organizing and coordinating course/program re-design, production and evaluation using a variety of technologies. Other duties will include assisting in developing and offering professional development opportunities for staff in the area of course re-design and the appropriate use of instructional technologies.
The successful candidate requires discretionary decision making. The successful candidate will work in a team environment with Teaching & Learning Centre staff, faculty, graduate students, and administration and requires management of competing interests. Additional responsibilities of the position include specialized workshops and individual faculty consultation.
*Requirements*: Candidates must have several years of instructional design experience in higher education. A Masters degree in learning and instructional design is required. Candidates must have strong organizational and communication skills plus previous teaching experience. Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
