Duties: the designer will: assist COE faculty to design courses for distance delivery, especially design of instruction; design and develop interactive learning modules; design, plan and implement professional development systems; supervise staff, ensuring timely completion of courses, content, and projects; teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses as assigned as needed; engage in distance education and course development via a variety of distance delivery modes; teaching off-campus is required; work with a diverse faculty and student population. Minimum qualifications: 1.) Master’s degree in educational technology or related field plus 30 graduate credits and three years’ experience at the Junior Specialist level or equivalent; 2.) advanced computer proficiency; 3.) teaching or training experience with adult learners; 4.) knowledge and experience with instructional design; experience designing or teaching online courses. Desirable qualifications: A. Experience designing and/or teaching with WebCT; B. Experience designing and/or teaching with Sakai; C. Knowledge of emerging distance education technologies; D. Experience working with multimedia development tools such as Flash, etc.; E. Knowledge of UH-Manoa teacher preparation programs or academic requirements of teacher education programs; F.
