An impressive dad in action

We recently posted our kids’ log cabin playhouse on Kijiji, and nearly 1500 people looked at it. Our kids loved it growing up, and we hoped it would go to someone whose kids would enjoy it as much as ours did. One family wanted it, sight unseen, for their kids at home and one they hoped to take home soon. They were living at Ronald MacDonald House while their new baby recovered from several surgeries and was touch-and-go for weeks, after being born with his intestines on the outside of his body. The dad somehow found time to come and get the cabin, and the procedure was impressive. Take a look at what one great dad did for his kids.

Happy Father’s Day to all of you dads out there.

  1. We are touched to see the beautiful write up you have done about our family. We know that our children will enjoy the cabin for many years to come. David was born with a “GIANT OMPHALOCELE” and a hole in his heart. After spending over 5 months in the hospital, we continue to hope that one day David will come home from the hospital and be able to play in it also. Your family is a very warm hearted bunch who have welcomed us with open arms even though we were complete strangers. Your act of kindness is truly appreciated and will never be forgotten! Being a parent is a tough job and sometimes goes unnoticed, but it is one of the most rewarding “jobs” out there. So HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, RICK…and yes, to all the Dads out there!

  2. Believe me, Tracy, the pleasure was all ours. We can’t imagine what kinds of family challenges you’ve faced, but your patience, humour and persistent courage are a reminder to all of us that no matter what life throws at us, our families get us through. Happy Father’s Day, Brent — and Tracy and all of your kids for that matter.
