Requirements and Duties:
Qualifications and Requirements -Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Education or other related discipline.
-Several years of directly related experience and training may be considered.
-Experience in the design, development and implementation of training programs.
-Experience in conducting needs assessments.
-Experience in designing instruments to assess and determine return on training investments.
-Experience in evaluating internal/external learning programs and facilitators.
-Experience with leadership development and training will be an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Director Learning & Development, the Learning & Development Consultant will be responsible for designing, delivering, and organizing training workshops, programs and initiatives within SIGA. Responsibilities include: Scheduling, organizing and delivering designated training modules organizational wide; Coordinating training schedules; Conducting pilot sessions for all new training initiatives; Creating lesson plans, agendas, learning materials, job aids and evaluation questionnaires; Ensuring that lesson plans meet the objective of the training initiative; Tracking workshop attendance numbers; Conducting learning needs analysis with individual employees; Identifying learning gaps, and creating personal learning plans that work towards employee development goals; evaluating return on training investment. Working with outside vendors to secure venues, resources and promotional items required for training sessions; Working with SIGA’s other trainers to ensure consistent training methods throughout the organization; Remaining up-to-date on industry best practices for facilitation and employee development needs and trends; Developing and contributing to maintenance of a procedural manual for the Learning and Development Consultant position; Other duties as assigned by Director Learning & Development.
