Student Teachers’ Anti-Racism Society, STARS Presentation

Guest Speaker: Dr. Marie Battiste

Wednesday Nov 18

4:00 – 5:30pm
College of Education, room 2001
University of Saskatchewan

Please join us to hear Marie Battiste, acclaimed and distinguished professor of Aboriginal Education at the University of Saskatchewan, speak about the importance of decolonization in anti-racism education. She says, “Every student and educator today has been marinated in Eurocentric colonial thought and ideologies that continue to affect us all in very different but profoundly damaging ways. This presentation is a first step at unraveling an ever-present force and context of Eurocentric colonial thought to inspire a more just society through anti-colonial antiracist education.”
