Bordering, Re-Bordering and New Possibilities in Education and Society

Bogazici University, Istanbul, 14th – 18th June 2010

The WCCES 2010 Congress (www.wcces2010.org) will take place in Istanbul at Bogazici University from 14th – 18th June 2010 and will provide a forum for leading scholars from across the world in education and social sciences, politics, civil society, and academia to discuss different perspectives and share valuable studies in education and changing world. The event is an invaluable opportunity for academia, NGOs and policy makers worldwide to discuss and enjoy the share of knowledge in the area.

Presentations in the congress will be mainly in English but French and Turkish presentations are also welcome. Also presentations can be made in Local Languages spoken in Turkey, as long as the translation facilities and translators are available.

1. Curriculum/Instructional Designer

Devils Lake, North Dakota

Lake Region State College is accepting applications for a person who will coordinate efforts of instructors, staff, and outside vendors in the development of instructional programs; advise instructors on effective instructional approaches; develop learning activities and exercises, assessments and other collateral materials for online learning; keep abreast of emerging applications of instructional design theories and instructional technology applications.

2. Senior Instructional Designer

Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Senior Instructional Designer for e-Learning is responsible for working with the faculty to design, develop, and implement online and hybrid courses and programs and to train faculty to become effective online and hybrid instructors. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in identifying innovative and effective online learning techniques, exploring emerging technologies, and providing professional development opportunities to faculty.

Celebration of Research

A message from Angela Ward, Acting Associate Dean (Graduate Studies and Research), College of Education:
All graduate students and faculty in the College of Education, University of Saskatchewan,  are invited to the annual Celebration of Research, held this year on Saturday March 20 from 9-12 p.m.  The mini-conference is a forum where graduate students can share their work in a friendly conference environment.
Graduate students are encouraged to participate in either a POSTER session or in a short PRESENTATION.
Please send the title of your proposed session, stating whether you wish to do a POSTER or PRESENTATION by FRIDAY FEBRUARY 19.  Send the titles to angela.ward AT usask.ca.
Program details will be sent to you before the end of February.
Faculty members are encouraged to participate as session chairs – please let Angela Ward know if you are willing to do this.
