Academic Assistant in Blended Learning
The Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge invites applications to fill one full-time Academic Assistant II position in Blended Learning. The successful candidate will provide support to instructors in the mounting and maintenance of new media productions and online curriculum resources, teach emerging technology related courses, and carry out other duties related to online course instruction and blended learning as assigned by the Associate Dean.
General Qualifications include:
- A Bachelor of Education degree; a Master of Education degree is preferred
- A minimum of five years teaching experience at the secondary and/or post-secondary level
- Strong interpersonal and instructional skills in order to work effectively with colleagues, instructors, and students
- Experience and aptitude in teaching within blended and distance learning environments, especially web-based learning environments
- Expertise with common forms of educational technology and software (e.g., SMART boards, software applications)
- Knowledge and/or aptitude in the technical aspects (both hardware and software) of building and maintaining effective blended learning environments
Applicants are encouraged to describe any blended learning/teaching experiences (e.g., technology experience, work in alternative education programs) and other qualifications pertinent to this position.
