Director of Technology Integrated Learning (at the rank of Associate Professor to Professor)

The University of Victoria invites applications for the academic position of Director of Technology Integrated Learning.  The position is governed by the Faculty Framework Agreement, and will be at the rank of Academic Administrator (Associate to Full Professor). The University is seeking an energetic, forward-looking and engaging leader who will transform how the University uses and supports educational technologies to further advance excellence in learning, teaching and scholarship.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership in supporting pedagogical excellence in higher education through the incorporation of emerging and innovative technology.

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Academic Planning, the Director of Technology Integrated Learning is responsible for developing a strategic plan for educational technology and leading a new central integrated resource unit for faculty, staff and academic units that supports the full range of learning environments at the University of Victoria.  This unit is comprised of 7-10 staff members with a variety of skills supporting technology integrated learning.

Requirements

Applicants should have an earned PhD or equivalent with related leadership and administrative and teaching experience in a higher education setting and a proven track record in planning, implementing and managing commonly used higher education hardware and software applications, including course management systems, classroom technologies, and multimedia instructional technologies.

Applicants should also have demonstrated the ability to foster team work and collaboration among a diverse group of skilled faculty, staff, students and administrators.  The position is governed by the Faculty Framework Agreement, and will be at the rank of Academic Administrator (Associate to Full Professor). 

Academic Administrator positions primarily carry organizational and administrative responsibilities in direct support of the academic mission, with some expectations for teaching and/or research.  The position  requires qualifications similar to or greater than what would normally be required for a regular academic appointment.
