Designers for Learning invites you to join us as we participate in Open Education Week! Open Education Week is coordinated by the The Open Education Consortium, an association of hundreds of institutions and organizations around the world committed to the ideals of open education. From March 7th – 11th, participants around the globe will come together to showcase what they’re doing to make education more open, free, and available to everyone.
In conjunction with the Open Education Week festivities, Designers for Learning will be hosting a live webinar on Thursday, March 10, 7:00 p.m. CST (see time zone conversion & add to your calendar) as part of our instructional design service MOOC on Canvas Network. Over 1,100 participants are enrolled in the free and open course that centers on the design and development of open educational resources (OER) for adult basic education (ABE). In this project-based course, participants are networking and gaining instructional design experience while developing instructional materials that will be made available for free to adult educators and learners in the Adult Learning Zone group on OER Commons. We were thrilled to be invited to participate in the Open Education Consortium’s January 2016 Community Call where we highlighted the goals of this open course.
