Athabasca University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to work in the area of Distance Education. Candidates must demonstrate strong research skills and innovative approaches to teaching, be familiar with technology-mediated learning platforms, and be able to make a significant contribution to the development and delivery of masters and doctoral level programs. The candidate is also required to serve on internal and external committees.

Athabasca University offers an Ed.D in Distance Education, an M.Ed in Distance Education and a number of Post-Baccalaureate Diplomas and Certificates. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in these areas.

Job Requirements:

  • A doctorate in Educational Technology, Distance Education, or equivalent.
  • The ability to teach in the masters and doctoral programs, supervise doctoral and masters students, and have an active research agenda.
  • A national and international profile in open and distance education and E-learning.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in E-learning, open education resources, open education, and/or learning analytics.
