The Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER), a world association of academics and researchers based in Athens, is organizing the following two Streams on “Online Education” as part of the  20th Annual International Conference on Education, 21-22 May 2018, Athens, Greece.

  • A Stream on “Teacher Preparation Delivered Online; Measuring Retention Rates and Teaching Effectiveness” (Stream Leader: Dr. Mervyn J. Wighting, Professor & Program Chair, Regent University, USA)
  • A Stream on “Online Education Incorporating and Addressing Engaged and High Impact Practices” (Stream Leader: Dr. Tony Pellegrini, Professor & Director of Graduate Studies in Education, Southern Utah University, USA)

You are more than welcome to submit a proposal for presentation. The abstract submission deadline is 22 January 2018. If you need more information, please let us know, and our administration will send it to you, including the stream websites, and abstract submission form. We do hope you can contribute to our academic activities.

Opportunity for PhD graduates and faculty to contribute to science policy/Occasion pour les détenteurs de doctorat et les professeurs de contribuer aux politiques scientifiques

The Canadian Science Policy Fellowship is now accepting applications from prospective fellows interested in undertaking a 12-month policy project with a Canadian government host office. Applicants can apply to up to six approved projects in their area(s) of interest.

Eligible applicants must be:

  • Faculty members at Canadian universities or PhD graduates
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents (applicants are responsible for confirming their eligibility for individual projects)
  • Able to negotiate a leave of absence from their university or employer, as applicable

The 2018 cohort of fellowships will begin in September 2018. Approved fellows receive remuneration from their host offices and professional development training and networking events facilitated by Mitacs.

La Bourse pour l’élaboration de politiques scientifiques canadiennes accepte actuellement des demandes de stagiaires potentiels qui souhaitent entreprendre un projet de politique de 12 mois dans un bureau d’accueil du gouvernement canadien. Les candidats peuvent postuler à jusqu’à six projets approuvés dans leur domaine(s) d’intérêt.

Les candidats admissibles doivent être :

  • professeurs à des universités canadiennes ou détenteurs de doctorat;
  • Les citoyens canadiens ou les résidents permanents (les demandeurs sont responsables de confirmer leur admissibilité pour les projets individuels)
  • capables de négocier un congé de leur université ou employeur, selon le cas.

La cohorte 2018 de bourses commencera en septembre 2018. Les stagiaires retenus reçoivent une rémunération de leurs bureaux d’accueil ainsi que de la formation en perfectionnement professionnel et des événements de réseautage organisés par Mitacs.

Mobile learning is concerned with a society on the move. In particular, with the study of “…how the mobility of learners augmented by personal and public technology can contribute to the process of gaining new knowledge, skills and experience” (Sharples et al. 2007).
The ML Conference seeks to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of mobile learning research which illustrate developments in the field.

This is a blind peer-reviewed conference. Authors are invited to submit their papers in English through the conference submission system by February 9, 2018. Submissions must be original and should not have been published previously.

– Final Camera-Ready Submission and Early Registration (2nd call): Until 26 March 2018
